This lesson is closely related to the QCA's Animal Magic unit (3a). It provides a visual focal point intended to stimulate pupils to produce their own music. Pupils will therefore require a variety of instruments for this lesson. They will be expected to produce music relating to moods and actions. Some pupils may find the work easier if they have already been introduced to the topic by evaluating existing pieces of music, so in this sense some prior learning may be required. However, others thrive off their own original ideas, in which case the lesson could be used as a starting point for the unit.
